Raut in the Moluccas province

Post by ahsowrov408 »

Research on manatee ecology in India focuses on the feeding and migration of approximately 10000 manatees living around Ambon Harukusapalua and Nusa Raut in the Moluccas province of eastern Indonesia. No studies have been conducted on the Aru Islands because they are relatively remote. By figuring out the migration routes of Duyong, these animals can be prevented from falling into fishing nets. Both Duyong people and fishermen will benefit a lot from it.

These animals have the potential to become tourist attractions like in Florida. This will mean an additional source of income for local residents. For example, for many mobile number list years the mayor has let visitors watch manatees graze on the bay's seagrass beds on the coral rocks near the village. The use of satellite technology is an important tool in mapping manatee migration and feeding behavior. Two manatees fitted with satellite transmitters in 2009 were just young males and only adult females.

The satellite launcher is mounted on a torpedo-shaped float and connected to the tail fin by a long, flexible plastic rod and strap. The United States has used transmitters and satellites to study manatee migrations since the 1900s. Australia has only recently gained some experience with Du Yong. These studies show that manatees are not affected by the installed transmitters. In addition, a corrosion chain composed of two metals ensures that the transmitter will not loosen within half a year.
